~ Welcome to the Mt Dandenong Preschool ~

Our little Pre-School is situated in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges, Victoria, Australia. At an elevation of 500m / 1650ft we are surrounded by cool temperate rainforest consisting of towering eucalypts and ancient tree ferns with an amazing variety of wildlife, including one of the world's best mimics- the Lyrebird. The Dandenong Ranges are about an hours drive from the centre of Melbourne.

Our pre-school has been operating at this location since 1964, the centre was built in 1963 and was originally a child and maternal health centre.

~~ Caterpillars & Butterflies ~~

We offer 3 & 4 year old pre-school programmes, fondly known as our Caterpillars & Butterflies.

3 Year Old Group - Caterpillars

Our Caterpillar groups are divided into 3 clusters this year, due to large enrolment numbers. Each group attends two of the three sessions per week. The groups are known as Harlequin, Bitter-Bush & Wanderer.

Monday, Wednesday & Friday

1.15pm - 3.15pm

4 Year Old Group - Butterflies

The Butterfly groups are also divided into clusters this year. Four groups known as Oakblue, Monarch, Lacewing and Jewel, each attending three of the four sessions making a total of 10.5 hours weekly for each child.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday

8.45am - 12.15pm

Preschool session times and days vary each year depending on enrolment numbers.

The Preschool does not operate on days of total fire ban.
